About the First Division
The Saram First Division is the second tier of the Saram League system. It sits directly below the Premier Division and is home to 16 competitive clubs across Dublin and surrounding areas. The division provides a vital platform for ambitious clubs to compete for promotion to the top tier, while also ensuring competitive football throughout the season.
Competition Format
Each club plays the others twice, once at home and once away, making for a full 30–game season. Teams are ranked by points, with 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a defeat. Goal difference and goals scored act as tiebreakers.
Promotion & Relegation
- The top two teams earn automatic promotion to the Premier Division.
- The team finishing 3rd enters a playoff with the 18th–placed team from the Premier Division.
- The bottom two teams may face relegation into regional divisions, depending on league restructuring.
